Satram Das : A True Spiritual Master: Saint of Sindh
This is a fact that always Masters give knowledge to
disciples but in the Indian history there are some
evidences where the disciple become more famous than the
master, off course it was not possible for Arjun to
become world's number one archer without the teachings
and guidance of Guru Dronacharya but we cant ignore that
this was Arjun due to which Guru Dronacharya was able to
generate such huge fame. Yet another such duo was of
Saint Satram Das Sahib and Bhagat Kanwar Ram.
In the present time people, especially Sindhis, from all
over the world wish to visit once to Raherki - a small
village in the Pakistan, only because of the fact that
this is the birth place of famous Sindhis saint Satram
Das - the spiritual Master of great Sindhi Saint Amar
Shahid Bhagat Kanwar Ram Sahib. Saint Satram Das Sahib
were a Sufi [In the older days A person who wish and
spend his life for the search of truth was called as
Sufi.]
Satram Das was born as the youngest and third son of
famous saint Khotaram Sahib, who was famous through out
the Sindh as a person in lighted with light of divinity.
His knowledge and devotion towards the all mighty were
said match less. Satram Das was younger than Bhai
Sahajram and Bhai Sabhagchand but as it is said that age
is not an obstacle for a person to turn into a God
intoxicated soul, it needs only the blessing and
companion ship with the master of the spirituality and
that went on the side of Satram Das as instead of his
two elder brothers, he was more close with father - the
famous master of spirituality. A spiritual soul can
identify the presence of another spiritual soul, hence
father Khotaram Sahib, send Satram Das to near by
village Jahanpur to study scared Hindu religious books
like Shrimad Bhagvat Geeta, Ramayana etc. under the able
guidance and personal attention of famous teacher Bhai
Veeruram.
It is said that voice of Sai Satram Das Sahib was, a
thing which was out of this materialistic world, During
the Bhagat when he start reciting Shabad Gurbani
[Poetry] of Sri Guru Nanak dev, Kabir, Farid and Namdev,
his voice become such melodious and with healing touch
that listeners often forget their work. The followers of
sai were increasing day by day and from place to place
through out the Sindh. During the discussion with
followers, Satram Das sahib always press that if you
wish to reach the God , you must serve the poor and
needy persons. In Hindi a few lines goes like
Nar Mein Narayan Ko
Tum Paa Jaoge
Karoge jo Durbaloon Kee Sheva Prabhu se Tum Mil Jaoge.
[You will become able to find God in human if you serve
the needy and underprivileged people surly you can merge
your self with God]. In the 1910 A.D. Sai Satram Das
Sahib left the physical world for the heavenly abode
with leaving behind several thousands of devotees all
over the world. All we can say about Saints like him is
[in Hindi]
Santo Kee Vani Sada
Sada Amar Rahati Hai
Marata Hai Sirf Sarer Aatma To Ajanmi Hoti Hai.
[Teachings of saints is immortal and is for the forever,
It is the body not the soul which falls pray to death.]
