Though
Guru Nanak Dev Ji are looked as the creator of Sikhism and
Guru Nanak Jayanti in most parts of India is treated as
celebration related with sikhism but as Adi Guru Dhan Sri
Guru Nanak Dev Ji are the religious masters of
considerable huge population of Sindhis hence in the life
of Sindhis importance of Guru Nanak Jayanti is very high
and this day is treated as the most meaningful day. Like
the Punjab this day is celebrated in the cities having
sindhi Population with full of enthusiasm and devotion.
Here at Gandhinagar, Kolhapur the day is undeclared
holiday for the commercial activities of Sindhi Samaj. On
the day, at central Panchayat building, after recitation
from Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, Bhog sahib is
performed and community lunch [Aam Bhandara, Lungar] is
arranged. The celebration goes on till the Chhati [sixth
day of birth] and various Darbars [Guru dwaras] are
decorated with lights and Bhagats are arranged to mark the
celebrations. Bhakati Dham [being looked by Bhai sahib
Muralidhar Jagyasi] and Kanwal Dham [Bhai sahib Hariram
Hazurani] are famous for celebrating Guru Nanak Jayanti at
Grand scales. |
